Once upon a time I had another blog, also called “the rantings of a homicidalManiak”, and then life got in the way. So that blog is gone, but I recently got the itch to start blogging again so here I am.
I think the most important thing you need to know about me is that I’m definitely a patriot. I love my country and I don’t like seeing it torn apart by people who want to rule it but clearly hate it.
I have very well-defined opinions about most political things. I am a libertarian; I think the government needs to stay as far away from everybody’s lives as possible without ignoring their duty to protect life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Which means they need to back off A LOT. When it comes to the voting booth, I lean Republican, but only because they generally take national security seriously and while the US does have it’s problems, it’s a helluva lot easier to fix them if you still have your own government and aren’t bowing down to some guy yelling about cutting your head off if you don’t switch to Islam.
I don’t think Islam is a religion of peace. If you’re a Muslim and reading this, you’ll just have to deal with that.
My passions are all, unfortunately, very firmly encamped in the liberal tent. I love video games, movies, and TV. Yes, I realize that a lot of it is just drivel, but I wouldn’t tell somebody to give up their passion just because I think it’s stupid. Everybody has an opinion on what they like and it’s OK. That’s one of the things that makes this country great.
I have little to no respect for people who refuse to defend themselves. There are some who are truly pacifists and I don’t have a problem with them. What I have a problem with are people who refuse to defend themselves, want to take away the best possible tools (guns) for others to defend themselves, and then wet their pants and call for those same people – whom they usually reduce to insulting stereotypes such as “bitter gun-clingers” – to come save their bacon when the shit hits the fan (think Code Pink and the Marines). As for me, if you insult my intelligence and try to take away the single best tool for self-defense there is, when things go nuts and you need a protector, go elsewhere. Many people I know would be perfectly willing to come back and save you even after you’ve run them through the dirt. Not me. Yes, I’m vindictive. But I’ve made peace with that.
I’m all for legal immigration. What I am not for is people jumping across the border and expecting me to pay for their hospital visits and their children to go to school. And while I applaud anybody who wants to celebrate their own personal history – hey, I’ve got Irish and Scottish heritage that I’m proud of – marching through the streets holding up your former country’s flag and screaming about citizenship in America tells me you don’t want to assimilate into American culture, you want it to change for you, and that’s a no-go in my book. You like your former country so much, GO HOME.
